New Practice URL’s (those web site names)

Have you noticed that web site names (www.drsomething.com) are getting longer and longer? How about this one: grandrapidsspineandposturecenter.com Too long? Well, since all the short names are taken, I guess it was inevitable. I’m just wondering how semi-computer-literate people, like most patients, are going to remember all those letters.

How about this one - When you start your chiropractic practice, use your office phone number as your url: www.533posture.com, for example.

A trick you should know when you send emails with long url’s in them, or if you put a lengthy url on your website: There’s a site called tinyurl.com which packs up your long url and puts it in a short form. Here’s an example from their website:

Turn this URL:

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?ovi=1&mqma
p.x=300&mqmap.y=75&mapdata=%252bKZmeiIh6N%252bI

into this tinyURL:

Nifty, huh?
